Day 87: 6 February 2012

What is in this photo: A test

Why I like this photo: I've been thinking about my next stop motion project, and I wanted to see if cotton wool could look kinda smokey. I quite like it. Might run with it.

Day 86: 5 February 2012

What is in this photo: The neighbour's basketball hoop

Why I like this photo: That warning never fails to make me smile a little. It's so dramatic.

Day 85: 4 February 2012

What is in this photo: Things on a table

Why I like this photo: I took this at a party. I liked the contrast of the chrome against the white against the glass. Annoyed I didn't notice the crumb.

Day 84: 3 February 2012

What is in the photo: A lovely path

Why I like this photo: I like this photo because it doesn't look at all like it belongs where it actually is. This is a little tract of park behind work, that is surround by high capacity housing and industry. I think this manages to actually look like park land, and that's quite exciting.

Day 83: 2 February 2012

What is in this photo: Solar light from my garden

Why I like this photo: I put my camera on a slow exposure and let it take this photo. The light cycles through red green and blue (maybe not in that order), so I was iterested to see what colour would dominate. Also I like the way that, although the camera was steady, the change in colours was enough of a change in the light to but a blur across the subject.

Day 82: 1 February 2012

What is in this photo: I bring toy Dalek.

Why I like this photo: I just love that I live in a world where I can take this photo.

Day 81: 31 January 2012

What is in this photo: Tuesday Night lens flare.

Why I like this photo: This was just more playing with lens flares. Or, I was busy all day and forgot until after dance class.

Day 80: 30 January 2012

What is in this photo: An amazingly strong Praying Mantis

Why I like this photo: This little fella was on my bonnet for a 5 minute car ride. He was amazing! Just wanted to give him some props.

Day 79: 29 January 2012

What is in this photo: A brave nightshade pushing through the concrete.

Why I like this photo: When I saw this little plant pushing up through the concrete I was reminded of the scene from Planet of the Apes where the astronauts finally find some life on the fringe of the Forbidden Zone. They say something like "Life! Where there's life there's always water!", which then reminded me of another quote, something llike "Life manages" or "Life finds a way". But I can't remember what it's from, so I can't clarify it for myself.

Day 78: 28 January 2012

What is in this photo: A Paw Paw

Why I like this photo: I like this photo because it speaks to the reason that I shoot in widescreen mainly. It gives even the most plain subjects a lift. Maybe it's just because I'm used to seeing films and television in widescreen. I'm not sure.

Day 77: 27 January 2012

What is in this photo: The sun going down on a summer's eve

What I like about this photo: I just really like the big flare. It's something that I want to learn more about. I like them (not as much as J.J. Abrahams does; clearly) and should try to understand them better. And again, it's the desaturated pallette that I really like: a colour photo that feels like it's a black & white.
